 Astley ChurchThe red, sand-stone-built, Church at Astley is well worth a visit, together with the old mill and weir about half a mile further along Church Lane. Astley has its own vineyard, in Crundles Lane, where you can purchase reasonably-priced, locally-produced, prize-winning wines.
 
 The fishing at Larford Lake is reputed to be excellent and rapidly gaining favour throughout the fishing fraternity.
 
 Stourport on Severn, a one-time busy, inland port on the River Severn, boasts twenty to thirty pubs and inns, some adjacent to the intricate canal system, some flanking the riverside. South of Stourport, just off the Worcester road, there is the riverside pub and restaurant, the Lenchford.
 
 Canal Basin - Stourport on SevernAn extensive canal and basin system is to be found in and around Stourport, complemented by several nearby locks on the the river.
 
Although the busy, river-based, commercial era is long past there is still a great deal of river activity; consisting largely of pleasure craft. There is a regular passenger service between Stourport and Worcester.
 
 For the river user there is the rich reward of abundant wildlife. Swans are prolific, along with Canada Geese, Mallard and Water Hen. The electric blue streak of the Kingfisher is a regular feature for the sharp eyed and the river bank is rich in flora and fauna.
 
Shrawley wood - a sea of blue-bells Shrawley Woods, with its myriad of interconnecting walks, is well known for its magnificent display of blue-bells at spring time.
 
 Further north is the attractive, riverside town of Bewdley, with its old world charms of a bygone age preserved in its unique, timber-framed buildings.
